There are some people who have hiked more than 100 different trails on Day-trips in our area! Here are some trails that you can start on : eventually you can explore on your own, using resources listed after the trails. (Please Note: All trails, unless marked otherwise, are distance one way.)
Trails in Sheriff Creek Wildlife Sanctuary - Easy trails On Milliken Mine Road

Beaver Meadow Trail (Red Trail) - 3.1 Km. (This is total distance, as it is a loop).
Tamarack Bog Trail (Blue Trail) - 2 Km. (See Trail Guide map)
Upland Forest Trail (Yellow Trail) - 2 Km. (See Trail Guide map)
Trails around the City of Elliot Lake
Westview Nature Trail - Just over 4 Km. Westview park to Spine Beach
Porridge Lake Trail - 4.5 Km. Entrances from Esten Dr. North, or Brunet Road
Horne Lake Trail - 6 Km. Entrances from Miners Monument, Sheriff Creek Sanctuary, Tim Horton's/MacDonald's, Ski Hill Road
Fire Tower Lookout Trail(s) - As this is a combination of several trails, it is best to have a copy of the Explore Elliot Lake Trail Guide", plus a topographical map.
High Falls Trail - 3 Km. (total) Entrance from Pipeline Road, about 300 meters from first bridge, on the left (East) side
Red Briffet Memorial Trail - 2 Km. Access to this trail is from Spine Beach Ski Trail, or by canoe from the dam at the south-west end of Elliot Lake.
Trails North of Elliot Lake
Snowshoe Trail Highway 108 Panel Mine Road, then drive to bridge over Serpent River: trail is just beyond, on left 6 km. (Loop)
Little Quirke Lake About 1 km. beyond Snowshoe Trail, on left side of road This is a very demanding trail w. steep stretches
Peak Lake Trail This trail branches off Little Quirke Lake, and is also demanding - but beautiful.
South Lake Highway 108 Turn West at Dunlop Shores Road South Lake is about 3 km. in, trail forks near lake to both shores of lake
Banana Lake Highway 108 Turn West at Dunlop Shores Road Trail is on the left, about 1 km. in, (uphill) 2 km. to lake + trail by lake
Samreid Lake Highway 108 Almost 23 km. North Trail is 2 km. flat, then 1 km. quite steep down to Samried Lake

Tamarack Trail Highway 108 16 km. south of Elliot Lake city center. about 3.5 km.
Christie Lake Trail - Highway 108 - 19 km. south of Elliot Lake city center. 3 km. from highway to Christie Lake

Ask for a folder: "Mississagi Hiking Trails" which gives information, descriptions, distances of the trails in the Park.
Helenbar Lookout Trail, though challenging, has scenery with breath-taking views
